The faithful of the parish, under the guidance of Fr. Pelse Onelil, the parish priest, took a “March with Our Martyrs” procession during which the participants shouted aloud joyful hymns and slogans in the heroic style that our Claretian Martyrs manifested. “Long live, Sacred Heart of Jesus”, “Long live, Immaculate Heart of Mary”, “Long live, Catholic Church”, “Long live, Claretian Congregation”, “Praise be to, Jesus Christ”, “Thanks be to Mary, our Mother, “ Long live, St. Claret”, “Holy Martyrs, Pray for us” were some of the slogans that were shouted aloud at the march. This was the culmination of a series of activities that preceded: activities such as Novena prayers in preparation for the beatification of the 109 claretian martyrs, preparing the faithful to receive martyrdom, giving reflection points on Martyrdom, bringing the history of Claretian Congregation and Martyrdom to the awareness of the faithful etc. People were edified by the heroic witnessing of our Martyrs and were joyful to know more about them.
The March was led to St. Anthony Mary Claret Church, the Parish Church of Ampati Parish for a meaningful celebration of the Holy Eucharist. This was followed by a community gathering during which there were many community games were conducted and a community meal also was arranged.
